USA
It is hard to describe a country as large and complex as the United States, but if you have to pick something astounding in this diverse landscape of places and people, without a second thought I would peak the Four Corners area. The point where the borders of the four states, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah meet is the heart of an old civilization that left their traces here in a fantastic landscape unmatched in the world. Most of these treasures of nature or civilization are protected by National Parks, proud decisions of many presidents of the United States. Grace to this trend USA has today one of the most fascinating network of national parks in the world.
The world famous Grand Canyon is just one of the many amazing places in what is also called the South-West. Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Goblin, Arches, Canyonlands, Antelope are just several of the many and astounding canyons that are in this area. These canyons and many others together with many mesas and buttes represented for the local native population places of power and are still considered sacred. The local indigenous tradition is still powerful in spite of the spell of modernity that surrounds the area from all corners, but if you start visiting the native villages you'll find a serenity that you don't expect to exist in this vibrant world. Religion is an important ingredient of these places and beside the Christianity, very visible by each village church, the old tradition is preserved and practiced in underground khivas. However the traditions are not mixed, each one having its territory exactly like the South-West, a world into another world, two worlds apart from so many points of view.
Come and visit but do it with respect for the locals traditions and places!
